Louise Macdonald

Louise Macdonald is the CEO of Young Scot, the national information and citizenship organisation supported by the Scottish Government for young people aged 11-26 in Scotland. She is the Chair National Advisory Council for Women & Girls, the President of EYCA, and on the board of Scotland’s Futures Forum.

Patrycja Kupiec

Patrycja Kupiec is the Director of The Young Women’s Movement, a feminist organisation and part of a worldwide movement of women leading change. Patrycja has a PhD from the University of Aberdeen and she has previously studied at the University of Cambridge. She has also worked for Young Scot and for the Royal Society of Edinburgh.

Callum Baird

Callum Baird is the Editor at the National, the pro-independence paper owned by NewsQuest. He was previously the Sportswriter and sub-editor at the Herald.

Fiona Davidson

Fiona Davidson is the Director of the Ferret, an independent non-profit media cooperative in Scotland set up to investigate stories in the public interest. She is also a Media Law Tutor at Strathclyde University and the joint secretary of the NUJ Glasgow branch. She was previously the Women’s Project Worker at the National Union of Journalists.

Layla-Roxanne Hill

Layla-Roxanne Hill is writer, artist-curator and researcher. Her areas of interest are found in (de)construction of cultural production, marginality and decolonialism. She is Head of Engagement at investigative journalism platform The Ferret. Layla-Roxanne advocates for wide-ranging social change and is also active within the trade union movement, holding positions on the National Union of Journalists (NUJ) National and Scottish Executive Council(s) and Scottish Trade Union Congress (STUC) Black Workers’ Committee. She has a co-authored chapter in the forthcoming book Accessibility, Inclusion, and Diversity in Critical Events (Routledge)

John Toner

John Toner is the NUJ National Organiser for Scotland. He has worked for the union as a full-time official since 1996, first as the organiser for the North of England and Midlands and, since 2001, as the Freelance Organiser. He worked as a sub-editor on the Paisley Daily Express and other S&UN titles.
