West Lothian Council currently has vacancies for a Women’s Worker- Rape and/or Sexual Assault and a Children's Worker

West Lothian Council Domestic Abuse Service

Title: Women’s Worker- Rape and /or Sexual Assault - Fixed Term until 31/03/15

Location: West Lothian Civic Centre, Livingston

Salary From: £23219

Salary To: £26147

Area: West Lothian area

Job Type: Public Sector

36 hours per week.

You will have previous experience of working with women and youths who are/have experienced abuse. You will have an understanding of the complexities of all forms of abuse and it’s impact on women and young people. You will have the ability to work as part of a team, liaise/work with a variety of partner organisations in order to promote the best interests of service users.

You will have a minimum of 2 years experience of working with victims of rape and/or sexual assault. Experience of working with youths would be an advantage.

You will have a sound knowledge of the criminal justice system as it relates to rape/sexual assault victims.

You will have a good understanding of, and work from, a feminist analysis of violence against women.

Title: Children’s Worker

Location: Civic Centre, Livingston

Salary From: £20,028
Salary To: £22,581

Area: West Lothian area

Job Type: Public Sector

You will have a sound knowledge of or interest in domestic abuse and the impacts on children and young people. You will have previous experience of working with vulnerable children and young people.

You will have the ability to engage sensitively and positively with children, young people and their families. You will have experience of or a willingness to co-facilitate groupwork. You will have experience of or a willingness to co facilitate a Domestic Abuse Preventative Education Programme within schools.

You will have an understanding of the complexities of all forms of abuse and it’s impact on women and children. You will have the ability to liaise with and work with a variety of partner organisations in order to promote the best interest of children and young people.
