Vacancies: Edinburgh Women’s Rape and Sexual Abuse Centre (EWRASAC)

EWRASAC are currently recruiting for a Development Worker; Support Worker; Office Manager and Voluntary Board Members.

Established in 1978, Edinburgh Women’s Rape and Sexual Abuse Centre (EWRASAC) provides a unique support service for women, girls and transgender people in Edinburgh, East and Midlothian who are affected by sexual violence. We are recruiting for the following posts:

East Lothian Sexual Abuse Service Development Worker: 21 hours per week, £14,781 per annum
We are looking for a highly motivated individual with three years’ experience of supporting vulnerable service users to develop and deliver EWRASAC’s outreach support service for women and transgender people in East Lothian who are affected by sexual violence. Duties and responsibilities will include delivery of community-based outreach support, multi-agency working and coordination of a small team of volunteers. The post-holder will receive regular support and supervision and will have access to internal and external training opportunities. This post is funded at 21 hours per week by the Scottish Government Violence Against Women Fund and Safer East Lothian Fund until 31 May 2013. Part- funding is secure from the Scottish Government until March 2015, and EWRASAC is committed to fundraising for match funding to continue this post at 21 hours per week in 2013-15.

Support Worker: 8 hours per week, £5,037 per annum
We are looking for a highly motivated individual with two years’ experience of supporting vulnerable service users to deliver a range of support for women and transgender people affected by sexual violence, in particular an outreach support service for women and transgender people involved in prostitution and/or affected by other forms of commercial sexual exploitation. The post-holder will receive regular support and supervision and will have access to internal and external training opportunities. This is a new post funded by the Scottish Government Violence Against Women Fund until 31 March 2015.

Office Manager: 20 hours per week, £12,865 per annum
We are looking for an efficient and self-organised Office Manager with two years’ experience of office and financial administration and one year’s experience of office and financial management to oversee the running of EWRASAC’s office in Edinburgh and provide an effective financial management service. The post-holder will receive regular support and supervision and will have access to internal and external training opportunities. This is a new post funded by the Scottish Government Rape Crisis Specific Fund until 31 March 2015.

Voluntary Board Members
(Minimum commitment of 4 hours per month)
We are looking for committed women to join our Board of Directors and contribute to the governance and strategic development of EWRASAC. We are looking to strengthen our Board by recruiting women with a variety of backgrounds including (but not limited to) women with HR; strategic and community planning; or financial experience. We would particularly welcome applications from black and minority ethnic women and disabled women.
