This month's issue includes an interview Dr Alison Phipps, Director of the Centre for Gender Studies at the University of Sussex. She tells us how students in the UK can take an active role in lobbying their institutions to start preventative programmes. She also speaks about her forthcoming publication The Politics of the Body: sex power and embodiment in controversial debates, which promises to be an insightful and engaging text.

Zero Tolerance trustee Helen Johnson reports back on the Child and Women Abuse Studies Unit Conference at London Metropolitan University. This one day event brought together researchers, educators, practitioners and students to discuss the latest research and thinking on violence against women.
