Government Equalities Office: New Strategy Underway for Engaging and Listening to Women

Following the closure of the Women’s National Commission, GEO has now embarked upon developing a new approach to enable women and women’s organisations to interact more closely and directly with Government.

As part of this, GEO will be hosting a briefing event for UK NGOs on Wednesday 19 January prior to the annual UN Commission on the Status of Women (CSW) 55th Session. GEO will also be sending regular updates to our women partner organisations, with the first one later this month, and publishing a dedicated web page as part of our engagement activity. There will also be an outreach programme and new opportunities to discuss key issues with Ministers across government.
