Under Pressure is a training course for professionals working with young people. It is aimed at increasing awareness of the issue of abuse and sexual exploitation in young people’s relationships, as well as equipping workers with skills and knowledge to prevent and address this problem in their practice.
The training was launched in 2011 and has been successfully delivered across Scotland to a variety of professionals in sectors ranging from Youth Work to Residential Care centres. The course has been consistently well evaluated with more than 98% of participants stating that they would recommend the course to a colleague.
In order to meet the demand for the course from 2015 Under Pressure: Preventing abuse and exploitation in teen relationships will be delivered through a train the trainer model, working alongside partner organisations YouthLink Scotland, Centre for Excellence in LCIS and CYCJ.
Specifically targeting the residential care, and informal youth sector: this training aims to skill up professionals working with young people often missed by education programmes taking place in Schools and more formal settings.
