Under Pressure Training: Preventing Gendered Abuse and Exploitation in Teen Relationships

In 2011 we launched Under Pressure, a one day training course for professionals working with young people. The training is aimed at increasing awareness of the issue of abuse and sexual exploitation in young people’s relationships, as well as equipping workers with skills and knowledge to prevent and address this problem in their practice.

The training is split into four activity- based workshops, and participants get an opportunity to deliver the activities with other participants

  • Under pressure to be sexy: Challenging misogynistic media culture.
  • Under pressure in love: What’s OK and what’s not OK in teen relationships
  • Under pressure to cross the line: Sexual exploitation and risk
  • Under Pressure to do something about it: Making change

From 2015 we will be focusing on cascading this training through Youth Work and Residential Care Centres alongside YouthLink Scotland, Centre for Excellence with Looked after Children In Scotland, and the Centre for Youth and Criminal Justice.

We are currently seeking experienced Youth Workers and trainers who would be interested in cascading this training to youth centres in their community. To register your interest fill in this short application form.
