New job opportunties at Women's Aid England

Women’s Aid is the national charity working to end violence against women and girls (VAWG). We support an England-wide network of over 300 local domestic and sexual violence organisations and campaign for more effective responses to violence against women and children nationally and locally.

We are currently recruiting to four roles. All the posts require experience of working in a related field, excellent analytical and communication skills from a feminist perspective and a commitment to equalities and anti-discriminatory practice. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to Women’s Aid’s national policy and campaigning functions.

Director of Policy, Voice & Membership

With significant experience of working at a senior management level in the not-for-profit sector you will be an excellent communicator and lobby at the highest levels, delivering impactful written and spoken representations to expert audiences, including the government and media. You will develop new ways of engaging with members and service users.

Salary: £48,030 to £51,907 (NJC Local Authority pay scale 56 -60) + ILW (£3,299) + benefits

Location: London based, with regular travel to Bristol and elsewhere as necessary

Director of Business Development & Communications (Maternity cover to September 2013)

With excellent skills to ensure Women’s Aid maintains its high public profi le and an experienced, confident and energetic leader you will play a lead role in external communication and income generation, identifying new business opportunities and develop a digital and new media strategy.

Salary: £48,030 to £51,907 (NJC Local Authority pay scale 56 -60) + ILW (£3,299) + benefits

Location: London or Bristol based, with regular travel to London or Bristol and elsewhere as necessary

Policy and Public Affairs Officer (6 month temporary contract)

You will have a successful track record in delivering on high profi le public affairs programmes and be an effective networker and relationship builder. You will work with government, Women’s Aid networks, statutory and voluntary agencies to contribute to the development of appropriate strategy, policy and services.

Salary: £29,236 (NJC Local Authority pay scale 35) + ILW (£3,299) + benefi ts

Location: London based, with regular travel to Bristol and elsewhere as necessary

Media Relations Officer

Are you a press officer or journalist who wants to use their media skills to help end violence against women and children?Can you quickly turn around comments for a wide range of publications? With excellent organisation and communication skills, plenty of initiative and ability to work under pressure you will be the fi rst point of contact for the busy Women’s Aid press office.

Salary: £24,646 - £27,849 (NJC Local Authority pay scale point 29 - 33) + ILW (£3,299) + benefits

Location: London
