Documentary: Abandon the Knife

Kenyan girls fight back against genital mutilation.

A short documentary produced by the Guardian and Christian Aid which shows how two young women living in rural Kenya defy custom in refusing female circumcision and fight for social change and women’s emancipation.

The strength of character the two women display is remarkable and inspirational, challenging both their families and the wider community on notions of womanhood and access to education.

This documentory will be screened at the CCA in Glasgow as part of the 16 Days of Action on the 29th November.

Lesley Orr, Zero Tolerance Acting Chair, will be joining an expert pannel discussion and Q&A exploring the issues.

Further information and booking.
